SCDPS REPORTS SEVEN KILLED ON SOUTH CAROLINA ROADS
SEPTEMBER 11 – SEPTEMBER 13, 2015

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of seven persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, September 11, at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, September 13, at midnight.

As of September 13, 650 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 550 highway deaths during the same time period in 2014.


Of the 434 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2015, 216 were not wearing seat belts. 


Through midnight September 13, 73 pedestrians have died compared to 63 in 2014; 99 motorcyclists have died compared to 68 in 2014; and 12 bicyclists have died compared to 9 in 2014 on state roads and highways.
