SCDPS REPORTS EIGHT KILLED ON SOUTH CAROLINA ROADS
OCTOBER 23 – OCTOBER 25, 2015

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of eight persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, October 23, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, October 25, at midnight.

As of October 25, 760 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 661 highway deaths during the same time period in 2014.


Of the 504 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2015, 252 were not wearing seat belts. 


Through midnight October 25, 90 pedestrians have died compared to 83 in 2014; 113 motorcyclists have died compared to 81 in 2014; and 13 bicyclists have died compared to 13 in 2014 on state roads and highways.
