SCDPS REPORTS SEVEN KILLED ON SOUTH CAROLINA ROADWAYS
SEPTEMBER 14 – SEPTEMBER 16, 2018

COLUMBIA – The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announces a preliminary number of seven persons killed on South Carolina roadways from Friday, September 14, at 6 p.m. until Sunday, September 16, at 11:59 p.m.

As of September 16, 701 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 702 highway deaths during the same time period in 2017.

 

Of the 486 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2018, 247 were not wearing seat belts. 

 

Through September 16, 108 pedestrians have died compared to 102 in 2017; 72 motorcyclists have died compared to 85 in 2017; and 13 bicyclists have died compared to 13 in 2017 on state roads and highways.
